Towson Prize for Literature.Formed in 1979 with an endowment from book-lovers, Alice and Franklin Cooley, Townson University (Towson, MD) offers an annual Prize for Literature, which awards a cash prize of $1,000 to a Maryland writer who has written the best book-length composition of fiction, creative nonfiction, drama, verse, or poetry. Judges evaluate submissions based on artistic and literary quality.
