What About Transportation?

There are an enormous number of vacation sweepstakes offered that do not include airfare. Many getaway contests are offered by resorts, hotels, and spas. You get a free weekend, often with free amenities which are quite enticing, but getting there is your own problem.

Is it worth it? Take, for example, a spa weekend at a San Francisco resort. Your room rate would normally be around $250 or more per night. Spa treatments might include a one-hour massage ($100 or higher), European facial ($75 or higher), and a spa pedicure (at least $35). Hot stones, mud treatments, and other such luxuries would be more. A vacation spa weekend sweepstakes probably includes the room, several treatments, and some meals for two or more people. That means the winner gets well over one thousand dollars worth of getaway goodness for the price of airfare. It's a tremendous bargain if you can afford the flight.

One advantage of entering such a sweepstakes is that, because many people are looking for those all-inclusive prizes, there are fewer entrants. That improves your odds of winning.
